2020 promises to be a bumper year.  Not only is it our 30th Anniversary, but we are also fully behind Hertfordshire Year of Culture 2020 #HYOC2020, playing our part from the very beginning: our diary of events and opportunities is extra-full this year, beginning with our free January Members Conference at the lovely Trestle Arts Base (St Albans).

Open Studios for artists

#HertsOpenStudios 2020 is from 1st-30th September. We’re taking full advantage of our website to make this year’s #HertsOpenStudios not only a fantastic virtual celebration of visual artists in Hertfordshire, but also the 30 years from our beginnings right up to the present day. It will be a great experience for our visitors and artists alike.

Registration opened on 14th July 2020 after a formal Launch on Monday 13th July at our Summer Members Meeting.

Virtual trails/themes will keep visitors coming back day after day. Members will be able to upload videos, live events and also schedule virtual meetings with prospective customers. Typical videos could include studio tours, demonstrations, artist introductions or developing work.

As always, we’ll have help videos and files in the members area of our web site to help get you started.

Artists take part for many reasons, depending on their personal art journey; from starting out in a living room or garage for the first time, to established artists with a secure customer base - everyone is different.  This year we embrace a unique opportunity to welcome visitors to our work and increase visibility and connections: all safely distanced under the HVAF support umbrella.

Any artists, artisans and designer-makers who live or work in or on the borders of Hertfordshire can take part in Open Studios, but you must first join Herts Visual Arts member.
