Who can join Herts Visual Arts?

We welcome all artists and artisans living and/or working in or near Hertfordshire. Here you’ll find Sculptors, Painters, Glassworkers, Photographers and much much more. With no minimum requirements, we provide a space where members can create and grow, show their work and get involved with others.

January Members' Conference

With over 75 members attending, our January conference saw two fabulous and very interesting guest speakers sharing their professionalism, working with galleries and exhibitions, plus using social media to promote your art. We also had two wonderful members' present their art journey. With lots of networking and planning time - essential discussions for the start of the new year.

Christmas Showcase 2021

Registration deadline extended: initial registration now closes Thursday 11th November, 8am.

#HertsChristmasArts 2021 ran from 19th November - 31st December 2021. We took advantage of our website and our strong social media presence to create our Christmas Showcase. #HertsChristmasArts can still be searched on social media platforms and is a fantastic virtual celebration where visual artists across Hertfordshire share their work, seasonal creations and gifts. It's a great experience for our visitors and artists alike.

Members: everything you need will be on our Christmas Showcase page and in your Account when registration opens.

Herts Open Studios 2021 

Our flagship #HertsOpenStudios was 18th September - 10th October (with a week-long lead-in preview from 11th September).

From Saturday 18th September to Sunday 10th October across Hertfordshire: We were back out there, sharing our art with the world. Who's up for the adventure and opportunity to let our art unfold again?

Not sure yet? Are you a venue that would like to host Open Studios? Want to take part but don't have your own space? Register your interest and we'll see what we can do to help you from there. 


In-person Open Studios: you'll need to have a venue lined up before signing up to Open Studios. If you don't have your own space, that's ok. Perhaps you know of local pop-up shops, galleries, halls, groups of Members who could host or who might have space. Maybe you have somewhere in mind, or know some fellow artists you can join in with. There's a wealth of information in our Herts Open Studios tab to get you started, as well as pointers to groups/venues offering space and artists who are looking for a share. Perhaps you have a venue or group that you could share with others? 

Members: Just log in to your account and register from there.

Non-members: it's simple to become a member of Herts Visual Arts. Once a Member, you can sign up to all of our events and take advantage of all our other benefits too. What are you waiting for?

Living Crafts Showcase 2021

#LivingCraftsShowcase 2021 was our opportunity to showcase Herts Visual Arts. Six different members each day demonstated skills and practice over the 4 days of Living Crafts at Hatfield House 17th-20th June. 

Big Makers Fair 2021

#BigMakersFair 2021 - Objects of Desire ran from 1st - 31st March, with 3 live events 19th, 20th, 21st March. We're taking full advantage of our website and strong social media presence to create this inaugural event. #BigMakersFair is a fantastic virtual celebration of our artisan-makers across Hertfordshire as they share their work, creations and gifts. It's a great experience for our visitors and artists alike.
