Carrie Cook

I am a fiber artist and textile designer from Ireland, living in St Albans. I worked for many years as an interior designer in London before relocating to Stockholm in 2018 where I studied textile handicrafts. This experience deepened my love of textiles, taught me to slow down and trust my creative instincts.

I work on a Swedish floor loom, creating tapestries and cloth as well as creating artwork with embroidery techniques.

In my work I explore themes of mythology, self knowledge and human connection. Working in textiles allows me to unravel stories of limitation and self doubt and reweave them into a new, more joyful narrative.

I am a resident artist at Collective Gallery St Albans and am available for commissions for tapestries and bespoke textiles.

My solo exhibition “Unravelling” will take place from 26 February until 4 March at Collective Gallery, St Albans.

Private view will be Saturday 28 February from 6pm. All Welcome!
