I am a professional portrait artist. I predominantly paint in oils but I enjoy working with a broad range of medium, which I select in response to the portrait at hand. My main objective is to capture the sitter, not merely in likeness but in expressing what the person has to say or wishes to express about themselves. Essentially, I am interested in people’s stories.

Working from a studio in Chandler’s Cross, Hertfordshire, I am currently working on a collection of portraits of people who live and work in Watford and surrounding areas. I am interested in who people are and how they came to be rooted in Watford. These pieces will form my first solo exhibition in autumn 2026.

I especially enjoy painting from life and would like to create or join a community of portrait painters who meet once a month to paint a sitter, taking it in turns to sit for each other. Please contact me if you wish to Sit & Paint, or to connect with me as portrait painters.

I have well established skills in teaching and I am very keen to teach portrait painting either to individuals or a group.

Although I am working on an exhibition, I take commissions. Please feel free to contact me.
