After gaining an MA. in education

I left my job as a headteacher to become a full time artist 35 years ago.I am now an experienced abstract artist painting mostly in oils.

I have just moved from Buckinghamshire to Hertfordshireion .

I do not set out to make a painting but find it during a process of exploration and problem solving.

I start my painting without a fixed idea, improvising and layering until a conversation with the work begins. I add and remove paint before moving to the analylitical and editing stage in order to bring the work to resolution.

I love colour and find it  is both exciting and inspiring.I use it to draw the eye,create mood and form relationships between line and shape.
