My work consists of vibrant, semi-abstract oil paintings inspired by the natural worldโfeaturing landscapes, sunsets, and animals. Cats, kingfishers, robins, and hares are particular favourites.
I also create linoprints, where tonal values and textures are achieved through various mark-making and carving techniques.
Over the years, I have explored a wide range of art materials and continue to enjoy discovering new ones. Colour is central to my process; I am endlessly fascinated by the emotional resonance of colour combinations. When certain hues evoke a strong emotional response, they become the catalyst for creation.
My practice is an ongoing exploration of colour, mood, and materialโaimed at capturing the beauty and vitality of the natural world in and around Hertfordshire.
I work from a small home studio in a village near St Albans and hand-print each linocut individually using an antique Victorian Albion press.
