Amanda is a self-taught artist creating bold, colourful, geometric abstract paintings influenced by artistic styles ranging from cubism to graffiti art. Working from sketches, she uses acrylic paint, markers and spray paint to explore ways to recreate her sketches in full colour. She also produces coloured pencil versions of some of her images; this is a medium she has explored thoroughly in the past, producing detailed realistic images.
Her work is ever evolving, finding new colour palettes and
shapes to explore. Her latest being experiments with cut out shapes in MDF.
‘I love geometric shapes, creating something from nothing out of my head.
Like a jigsaw puzzle, I want to find a way to make it work, make it all fit
together.โ
Her observations of graffiti art showed her how to cut up and distort geometric shapes to create something which is visually interesting.
She loves to experiment and explore, moving her images into
new and unexpected evolutions of her signature style.
