I am an abstract painter based in Lower Stondon, Henlow. Using mainly acrylic I create colourful, multi-layered surfaces that are rich in meaning. The abandonment and decay surrounding my first studio in Luton strongly influenced the development of the highly textured and complex surfaces that I create.

Using a type of automatic drawing to establish a rugged mixed media surface on the canvas I then apply layers of paint using an intense process of addition and subtraction. Embracing chance as a methodology I enjoy the push and pull between what the canvas dictates and the artist controls.
