Francesca is an emerging abstract painter based north of Hertfordshire. Working primarily with acrylic on paper and canvas, her practice focuses on colour, movement and intuitive mark-making.

She works in a process-led way, allowing each painting to develop naturally through layering and experimentation rather than following a fixed plan. This approach gives the work an open, expressive quality and leaves space for personal interpretation.

Francesca is currently looking to exhibit her work, collaborate with other artists and creatives, and in the longer term, develop  workshops that encourage exploration and confidence in abstract painting. 

Artist Statement

For me, colour is everything. I love fun, vibrant art and I often break the ‘rules’ playing with different combinations.

I want my work to have a positive impact on my collectors – lifting moods and offering a moment for them to pause, reflect and connect in their own way.

A lot of my previous work has been acrylic on canvas, incorporating texture wherever possible. More recently though, I have moved onto paper, which I feel suits my intuitive approach.

I enjoy using brushes, but also extensively use palette knives to create marks and texture.

My painting sessions are fast and expressive, rarely with a pause – so not to over think anything!
