I’ve always loved art & design. I was encouraged at school by an inspiring pottery teacher to pursue my art. But I didn’t.
Whenever I found myself on holiday, with time, I’d start painting and loved every second! Then Lockdown happened with it’s many challenges, but it also gave me the asset of time at home with a cupboard of art supplies that I’d hardly used.
I’d always been intrigued by acrylic pouring, so I started to experiment on medium sized canvas boards with plastic everywhere covering my kitchen floor, ready for the mess! I loved combining colours and the movement it created. Then I’d find myself staring at each one for ages and potential detailed images would jump out at me. I’d get lost in where the detailing would take the artwork and learning the importance of knowing when to stop.
I realised that after my second painting, I’d found a style that I love and get totally absorbed in. My artwork has been described as abstract botanical.
So basically, apart from an Art O’Level, I’m a newbie and looking forward to learning and exploring where it takes me!!
