Julia Fonnereau

Julia Fonnereau is an artist and designer with a love of pattern, storytelling, and the natural world. She works seamlessly in a variety of media from print to painting to pattern design and digital illustration.

Julia creates thoughtful, detailed work across a variety of media, shaped by pattern, narrative, and nature.

Much of Julia’s work has been inspired by the nature she encounters on her walks around her home town of Bishop’s Stortford. This has led to various exciting commissions including a  cover for the Bish Magazine, designing merchandise for the local BID, a mural in the museum in South Mill Arts and two large circular artworks for the Northgate End car park exhibition.
Through teaching, Julia has recently rekindled her love of print and has discovered a fascination with Tetrapak printing. A selection of her wildlife prints are currently on display in the gallery at Townhouse Ceramics in Bishop’s Stortford and she will be exhibiting some of these alongside her paintings and illustration work at the Big Art Fair in Hitchin in July.
