My present work is about making shed and house forms. These buildings reflect an inner feeling of nostalgia, spirituality, inheritance, life, death, the human condition, poetry and solitude. They are about taking and reusing resources from the landscape, by recycling found and inherited materials. ‘On The Edge’ Sculpture recently won the Sculpture Prize at the Letchworth Open 2025.
My material experiments include concrete, copper, wire, twigs, stones, feathers in fact anything I can collect to make a piece of art.
I travel around Britain soaking up inspiration from the land, sea and sky. And create paintings with watercolour paints and inks. I now work mainly in monotone blacks.
I make my own Natural Inks from plants in my garden or from the kitchen cupboard. This obsession started during 2023 and I love extracting beautiful colours from nature.
Recently, I have been going to a St Albans HVA Collage Group based at Kingsbury Barn in St Albans, this has given me an opportunity to explore collage techniques at a deeper level, plus it’s great to be with other amazing artists.
