Su is an established artist working in both figurative and abstract fields, with her main focus on natural themes including the life figure. She has BA Hons Fine Art degree from St Albans College of Art and Design. As a drawing tutor, visiting artist and artist-in-residence, Su’s career has been in both primary and secondary education, plus life drawing workshops for adults.
Su says, “I think of my work as semi-abstract, seeking to juxtapose reality with intuition, so that my art work also encompasses layers of memory, time and emotion. I wish to create a dynamic visual statement so movement and change are strong themes in both my paintings and drawings.
As an art teacher, I am an advocate of the expressive and communicative power of drawing, a fundamental activity which underpins my own art practice.”

Although I work mainly to commission, I take part in Open Studios each September with the Take Six group, plus I support local art exhibitions and events. Throughout the year, my paintings can be seen in The Eric Morecambe Centre and the Harpenden Dental Centre. I also run life drawing workshops in Harpenden.
