‘Margaret is a painter who distils the essence of a landscape’ Margaret’s acrylic landscapes are interpretations and celebrations of the countryside and the natural world. She especially responds to the beauty of trees. By means of bold composition, simplification, vibrant colours and expressive brushstrokes her work shows the emotive effects of light on the land. Her work often draws us from dark towards light; from shadows under trees, or under a dark hedge to a brightly lit area beyond. She has twice had work accepted for the annual competition of the Royal Watercolour Society and twice for the exhibition of the Royal Institute of Watercolour Painters at the Mall Galleries. This year she has been selected for the Discerning Eye exhibition at the mall galleries. She exhibits at the Hertford Open, other local exhibitions and online with www.wychwoodart.com She is a member of and represented by Studio Fridays, www.studiofridays.com

Margaret took part in a group exhibition at Myddelton House, Enfield, where she showed watercolours of the gardens there. Some of these are still available.
She also had her Open Studio at Sofas and Stuff, St Albans in September.
