Mella Kelly expressively tells a story, transports and captivates. In impasto acrylic strokes and oil landscapes, in her delicate watercolours and vibrant collage, by swiping digital paint strokes across her iPhone and carving charcoal arches on paper, Mel captures the paradox of both the human form and nature’s wildness: the interweaving of dark and light, solemnity and joy, the evocative and provocative.

After a sabbatical exploring the world without brushes, she has now returned to the studio—soulfully stirred, paint in flow, art back on show.

Curiosity and exploration of the world–people, places, philosophy and creative expression–keeps Mel’s heart beating, her daily practice to immerse in all elements of the arts.
