Painting is therapy for me. I suffer from bipolar disorder. Painting fills my mind, and so takes my mind off things and gives me joy. Recently I have mainly been painting in watercolour but I also paint in acrylics and inks. My subjects are mostly from the natural world. I love painting animals and birds, especially the coloured ones. I particularly like vivid colour and enjoy the challenge of achieving those colours in watercolour and the ease of achieving it with acrylics. I often use a bright colour for my background which highlights the animal I'm painting.
