A view across Porthminster beach, St Ives, towards the cliffs, looking along the line where sea meets sand.

'A painter who distils the essence of a landscape'
Margaret loves the countryside and enjoys using oil or acrylic paint to produce an individual interpretation of a beautiful or dramatic location. By means of simplification, good composition, bold colour and expressive marks on paper or canvas, she concentrates the visual and emotional experience of the scene.Bright light often contrasts with darker areas; perhaps under trees, which often feature in her work.
She has twice had work accepted for the annual exhibition of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours and has also shown work twice at the annual competition of the Royal Watercolour Society.
This year her Open Studio will be in the beautiful showroom of Sofas and Stuff, St Albans, where she hopes to find space for her easel and be working on a painting.
