Painting
Rousden Wood in Autumn, oil on canvas

I have always painted. It has always been a need; one I could never supress.

My early training was in biological sciences, and I worked for many years as a research scientist cloning genes, as a science teacher and in TV production making programmes such as Human Journey and Invisible World.

But art has always been my first love. Taking every opportunity to put paint to canvas, I developed my artistic skills with courses in oil and acrylic painting at University of Hertfordshire, Oaklands College and Insight Art school.

I am drawn to the energy contained within living organisms, people, trees and the landscapes they sit in. I look for moments where evidence of the perfection of living systems is incontrovertible. My mission is to capture in paint, evidence of our universe and the light that illuminates life.
