A self-taught painter and member of Herts Visual Arts Forum and Royston Arts Society, I am inspired by wildlife (exotic and native) as well as the flora and landscapes of my home area. I am interested in our human interactions and connections with the natural world and this gives me scope to include domestic pets in day to day settings in my work which I love to do.
I work in oils, acrylics and water colour, sometimes dabbling with combining the mediums to achieve specific effects – experimenting is part of my ongoing journey and development as an artist.
In addition to canvas and paper, I work on natural products such as pebbles and slates. There is something so tactile in working on stones as the base for small original works and, if I have time to produce a good number, I enjoy leaving some of these as ‘abandoned art’ for others to find in the hope it brings a smile and pause for reflection.
When present at the Open Studios, I will be working on current pieces and I will have a range of products featuring my work available as well. I look forward to meeting all who can visit!
