Having always had a passion for art, I pursued formal training and earned a spot in a prestigious young artist apprenticeship under the guidance of renowned artist James Gillick. Since then, I have continued to create both commissioned portrait artwork and original still life paintings, focusing on creating meaningful, lifelike representations of people, animals, and everyday objects.
My artistic approach combines the classical teachings from my apprenticeship and the old master techniques with a modern perspective, resulting in a distinctive and refined style. As a lover of people, animals, and food, these subjects are at the heart of my work. In my still life paintings, I aim to capture the beauty of domestic life, celebrating the simple pleasures that bring comfort and joy.
In my portrait art, I always strive to capture the unique expression that makes each subject—whether human or animal—instantly recognisable.
Creating art is not just a profession for me, it is a form of meditation. As an energetic and sociable person, I’ve found that painting and drawing are the most successful ways for me to meaningfuly reflect on my experience of the people, places and things I encounter.
