I work primarily in botanical art and textiles, with long-standing inspiration from the natural world. My work is based on observation of plants, trees and landscape forms, developed into both representational and more abstract pieces.
With a lifelong interest in a wide range of media, including oils, pastels, watercolour, charcoal, paper, and textiles I particularly enjoy combining techniques such as drawing, painting, print, and stitching.
I also love the creation of practical items, for example, hand bound books. A recent interest is the Japanese art form Kinusaiga, originally using a wooden base and old kimono silk, now adapted to use foam board.
