Abigail Lagden (Curiously Contrary) at Kingsbury Artists (Group 2)

Grumpy, red and green mushroom made of fabrics

Abigail is a self taught artist, working mainly with fabrics and a fabric hardener to create fun, whimsical pieces that make people smile. She loves all things magical and fantastical; things which appeal to the inner child in us and feed our imagination; and her work certainly reflects that.
Abigail creates sculptural, often functional, pieces which still retain the appearance of fabrics within the design. They are highly textured, colourful and tactile. She uses painting mediums and techniques that enhance the textures using layering and shading.
Abigail also creates bright, abstract paintings with lots of layers and texture.
