Gill Davies at Artists at the Howard Centre
Inspired by finding and collecting objects, Gill likes to abstract ideas from these ‘treasures.’ Starting from printing onto a variety of fabrics and paper the materials are pieced and layered together, usually by hand. The stitching can take many hours, but each stitch adds to the textures and marks that the final work enjoys. Gill’s work makes use of limited colour palettes; she often chooses just three colours to work with. The final pieces are each unique.
