Laura Donaldson

I study landscapes, weather and seasonal change with a strong emphasis on colour. I regularly produce work with oil paints, acrylics and mixed media. My love of the landscape and the ever changing weather conditions are my starting point, developing my work through sketches that explore composition and colour. From here, I work to create vivid and stimulating final pieces.

I’m particularly interested in the playful aspect of making artwork, following my intuition and exploring the freedom of mark making to create uplifting, confident pieces.

My studio is nestled in the Hertfordshire countryside and is open by appointment to discuss commissions or enjoy drawing and painting workshops held regularly.
