Woven tapestry of yellow, orange and grey wools with woven flowers sitting above on wire stems

I am a tapestry artist from Letchworth Garden City, who graduated from Middlesex University with a constructed textiles degree specialising in tapestry weaving, and a commendation from the Simon Jersey Tapestry Award. After spending most of my career developing and delivering art education to the community, schools, and colleges I fully returned to tapestry weaving in 2017, which I continue to teach.
I weave using traditional woven tapestry techniques, and my own development and exploration of circle weaving which I often embed into the tapestry background. In my work I enjoy exploring a fascination of light play and love of local habitats. It is important to me to maintain a sustainable art practice by recycling and upcycling fibres where possible, which has become an integral part of how I work, and often has a direct effect on design and size of a piece, along with an exploration of combining fibres.
