Elif Lewis at Prehistoric Futures
Elif is a Turkish born acrylic painter and ceramicist based in Hertford, exploring nature’s influence on human emotions. Water (in particular the sea), trees and idealized landscapes are key elements occurring in her artworks. She is also inspired by time, movement and change.
She enjoys experimenting with different techniques to capture the impact of time and change within her paintings, including both rapid motion in a dance and slower changes in a face over time.
She applies the paint using palette knives, rather than brushes in most parts of the paintings and sometimes uses some household objects to paint and create textures.
