7b Susan Chester at Pastures Studio
Susan lives and paints in Bovingdon. She has dabbled in watercolours all through her life, but ‘took the plunge’ and studied Fine Art at Middlesex University as a mature student, graduating in 2012.
Susan paints her surrounding countryside, flowers growing in her garden, and various treasured favourite objects in her home, together with landscapes from her travels. She often changes or enhances the colours to create “a sense of the moment”.
Susan works in watercolour, pastels, acrylics, and collage. She is influenced by the work of the Impressionists, Marc Chagall, and the vibrant colours and shapes of stained glass windows. Her paintings often bring elements from nature into interior settings.
