Newly elected member of The Association of Wildlife Artists
Janet originally trained as a designer and Visualiser in Advertising. She andvanced her career to become Art Director for local Advertising agencies followed by a leading Pharmaceutical Company based in Hertfordshire. After leaving to have a family Janet studied at University to do BAHons in Writing &Publishing with English Language and Literature . After a move to Edinburgh she began lecturing in Further Ed in Journalism, communications and Creative writing. After a few years Janet found her love of teaching in Adult and community education and settled as a Learning advisor and Adult Literacy tutor. She now lives in a village in North Beds and works on her nature inspired watercolours and printmaking from her Studio situated in her wildlife friendly cottage garden. She has an Etching Printing Press and enjoys the flexibility of Collagraph and Drypoint etchings. Janet is an active member of the Bedford Art Society, where she enjoys painting outside in the summer with the group and inside painting Portraits in the winter. She regularly exhibits her work locally and this year was asked by St. Neots Picture Framing to be represented by them, her work displayed in a long term exhibition in their Studio windows and on their Website. Janet is also a member of the SAA, St. Neots Art Club and The Society of Wildlife Artists. Janet likes to walk with in the countryside with her border collie, observing the changing seasons. She travels with her husband in their husband to Scotland and Cornwall, Norfolk and in between, mostly to walk quiet paths and beaches and chat to locals. Urban sketching is new this year!
