Rediscovering a childhood love for art during the 2020 lockdown and beginning to rediscover life through art.
Toni, a self-taught artist works from her home studio in Hertfordshire. Often drawn to featuring animals in her art, Toni especially loves working on their eyes giving an insight into the animal and bringing them to life. She loves creating atmospheric land and seascapes that engage with people on a personal level, allowing each person to conjure their own story.
Outside of her art, she is a Pet Loss Support volunteer for the Blue Cross. One of the greatest loves in her life is her dog who exudes a contagious love of life.
At present, Toni works mainly with pencil or watercolour but is constantly exploring other mediums and enjoys using mixed media in some of her work. She says art is a journey of discovery that never ends.
Since lockdown, her work has evolved, and her animal portraits have a lifelike quality.
As a member of the longstanding Herts Visual Artists, Toni says the support from this local art community will help her continue to push the boundaries of her work and her enjoyment of it.
