My work is colourful, abstract, and geometric, with elements of cellular and fractal patterns. Printmaking, drawing and collage are particular interests. I like to experiment with making monoprints using a Gelli plate, and make block prints using found objects. I have made a series of coloured pencil drawings developed from zoomed in photographs of spider plants.
During the first lockdown in 2020, I made a lot of miniature marker pen drawings on handmade paper, which I have grouped into concertina books. I also hand printed colourful bookmarks, and sold them to raise funds for the local hospice.
My ideas come from many sources - patterns in the natural and manmade world; found materials; music, dance and poetry; other artists' work; and visual ideas that just pop into my head!
Since graduating from the University of Hertfordshire in 2016 with a BA in Fine Art, my work has been shown in a number of group exhibitions and open studios in London and Hertfordshire.
