My journey into art started when I was young. Like many children I enjoyed scribbling, mark making and exercising my imagination on paper. As I grew, other paths penned up for me and I find myself engrossed in the world of science; first Zoology then Psychology. These interests, a;onside raising a family kept me pretty busy and art took a back seat for a while.
Hitting fifty proved to be the perfect catalyst to reignite my passion for painting. I’ve experimented with oil, acrylic and gouache, but keep coming back to watercolour. It is perfect for the expressive and impressionistic style I try to achieve.
The natural world has always provided me with inspiration. I am lucky to have the wonderful flora and fauna of the Hertfordshire countryside right outside my back door. Travelling worldwide has also provided plenty of opportunity to paint more exotic wildlife; the animals of Africa, Asia and even the Galápagos Islands have all found there way onto my easel.
