I'm a self taught, experimental, intuitive artist and furniture upcycler. I love to create colourful mixed media works using recycled materials and have recently begun to experiment with acrylic pour and alcohol inks. As a mindfulness coach I really value the benefits of regularly practicing creativity and love to share this with others through workshops, art groups and courses.
This year will be the first year that I'll be taking part in Herts open studio's where I'll be opening up my small home studio for visitors. A selection of my art work will be on display as well as some of the functional art items I create such as clocks, coasters and serving boards.
During your visit you will find me demonstrating some vintage crafts which I teach during workshops such as rag rugs, decoupage and peg weaving as well as working on my latest paintings.
As an artist, I enjoy teaching art for well being and art on prescription courses locally.
The work of my recent 'Art on Prescription' class will be on display at Chiltern Open Air Museum throughout June and July.
I have also led family art projects in local museums and have been invited into schools, the WI and Brownies to deliver workshops.
Do contact me if you are looking for an artist to lead a similar group. I'm a qualified teacher with 25 years teaching experience in both formal and informal settings working across all ages.
