General Information

How much does Open Studios cost?

We have fixed the fee again this year at £80 to support our artists in this difficult climate.

What does my £80 fee cover?

There is a huge amount of work that goes into producing the brochure and website information for the promotion of Open Studios. Whilst HVA is a volunteer run organisation, we pay for professional copy-editing, print design and website maintenance services. The vast proportion of the Open Studios fees goes into the creation, printing and distribution of the brochures.

Your fee provides you with:

  • a listing in the full colour brochure with a print run of 15,000 copies, distributed across the county
  • a website page with your venue details, biography and image of your work searchable by name, location and specialism
  • social media posts promoting your studio

Do I have to open my home studio?

We understand that not everybody has the space or position to allow them to open their home space for Open Studios. However, for 2026 we are really championing the return to this way of working. We have created an Artist Guide to provide support for those choosing to open their home studio, garden room, garage or house to the public. There is a huge benefit in letting visitors see behind the scenes over presenting your work in a external venue.

I would like to take part, how can I find a venue?

On our venue finder page you will find a listing of potential venues. It is also possible to add your own listing with your details and what you are looking for. View the venue finder here.
