Biography
I work in a mix of media: illustration (ink & watercolour, and digital illustration), semi-abstract painting in acrylics, and photography.
For several years my comfort zone has been doodling away in my sketchbook journal at the end of the day. My doodling now escapes from my sketchbook into portraits of pets, people and properties – I am available for live event illustration, eg for guest portraits. Sometimes these doodles quite complex and elaborate – weaving together multiple images to celebrate a special event or memory. These are my Big Day Doodles.
My photography reflects what I see on my walks: the beauty of the nature and countryside we are lucky to have around us in Hertfordshire – landscapes, birds, macro shots of flowers… from there my impressionist digital composite images have evolved. They are made from many images of the same subject layered and blended together, creating a painterly effect.
I also enjoy exploring creativity with textiles and foraged fibres, and my aim is to develop a sustainable practice that incorporates the landscape, flora and fauna of my local area, with links to the community where I live.
