Bundle dye a silk scarf

Let’s keep the summer going a little longer! Join us for a botanical dyeing workshop where you can learn the art of bundle dyeing . During this workshop we will dye a silk scarf with beautiful colours using a mix of the last of the summer flowers , a few early autumn flowers and dried flowers .The bundle dyeing process involves wrapping plant materials in cloth and steaming to leave the natural pigments permanently on the fabric.

Whilst they are steaming we will maybe make a solar dye jar , do a little hapazome /hammer printing dependant on what plants I have left in the garden and allotment.

No experience needed . All materials will be provided though you are welcome to bring any flowers from your garden to add to your bundle.

There will be tea, coffee and biscuits!
