Mandy Johnson: Colour, Joy & Play

Throughout September, Mudlarks Garden Café in Hertford will be filled with the colourful, playful artwork of local artist Mandy Johnson.

Mandy is an artist and muralist whose work is all about colour, joy and a little bit of joyful chaos. Her bright, characterful paintings invite you to look closer, have a smile and perhaps see the world from a slightly more playful perspective.

Working across canvases, murals and large-scale public art, Mandy loves creating artwork that makes people stop, look and feel something. Her work is often inspired by the everyday — people, places, animals, memories and the wonderfully odd things that make us smile.

Come along to Mudlarks Garden Café throughout September to enjoy Mandy’s work alongside the café’s delicious vegetarian and vegan food. Some of the artwork will also be available to purchase.

Mudlarks is a community café with a wonderful ethos of inclusion, providing training and paid work for adults with learning disabilities and creating a welcoming space for the local community. It feels like the perfect home for Mandy’s colourful and joyful work.
