Hello I’m Carolyn, an artist and Illustrator based in Hertfordshire who creates Character Design focused artwork for exhibitions and also commissioned projects. I’ve always been curious about character artwork, influenced by old school Disney, Quentin Blake and Beatrix Potter. I’m influenced by the weird, the wonderful, music, the obsurdities of Pop culture -R.Crumb is another big influence!- and I enjoy expressing emotion through colour, and telling a narrative by putting my characters in surreal settings. In recent years my writing and artwork has taken a direction towards Wellness. I run an Instagram account where I share photography, writing and artworks addressing topics to do with Self Image and Mental Health. I like to encourage others to turn to Creativity as a form of expression. Last year I began hosting Meditative Drawing groups, which I would like to make a more constant feature.

Variant Opening Dates & Times:
I hope to be able to steward at the venue at least 1 day per week of Open Studios running through September. As I work shifts I will have more idea of what dates I can steward nearer to September. For the time being, I can am mainly available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
