For many years I was awake at 4am taking my daughter to training. Sitting in a cold ice rink for hours on end and then driving home, going to work and then driving back to the ice rink that very same day. I spent hours travelling and hours sleeping in the car just waiting. When my daughter turned 17 and started learning to drive I knew that I had to find a love and passion that would take up my time and not feel like that lost parent who’s children didn’t need her anymore.

I started varying hobbies but glass has taken my heart. I started two years ago on a one day taster session with the amazing Suzanne Raffellini. I was gripped, I was hooked by the glass, the sparkle, the textures, the colours, the movement of the glass, the happiness it made me feel. June 2024 we were asked to display some work at a local village fair to encourage others to try taster sessions. That very day I sold two pieces of work. This gave me the biggest buzz and this is where Anna’s Touch of Glass was opened.

Through the support and encouragement of my tutor I now teach taster classes at my home and I take on commission work and I make glass just for the love of it.

PS – the early mornings were worth it as my daughter became a British Champion and International club champion and now has started touring in shows
