Beatrice is an abstract painter who is mainly self-taught. Later in life, she gained a Diploma in Drawing and Painting and in Illustrating Children’s Books from the London Art College.
She works primarily with acrylic paint and acrylic ink. Her inspiration comes from nature, including landscapes, skies, flowers, the sea, animals, and people. Her work is colourful and vibrant, reflecting her emotional response to the beauty of the natural world. She aims to create a sense of wonder, curiosity, and magic through texture, mark making, colour, and contrasting shapes, allowing each piece to evolve with a life of its own.
Her practice is intuitive and mindful, and she becomes fully absorbed in her creative process. She applies thin, thick, and loose layers of paint, using a range of mark-making tools such as credit cards, kitchen spatulas, brushes of different sizes, and tissue paper to add and remove paint. Beatrice enjoys exploring the contrast between light and dark and revealing what lies beneath each layer.

Beatrice is a member of Herts Visual Art and Hitchin Art Hub. Her work is regularly exhibited at the Hitchin Information Centre, 1a Churchyard, Hitchin. She has sold paintings nationally and internationally through her online platform.
