For 'The Real World' the Upstairs Gallery in Berkhamsted has invited art teachers from schools in the area to exhibit their own work - a fascinating exhibition showing a diverse range of approaches to painting and sculpture.

Hot on the heels of his success at the Mall Galleries where he was voted 'Artist of the Year' by Artist and Illustrator magazine following a public vote, Peter Keegan is taking part in the new exhibition at the Upstairs Gallery 'The Real World'.Peter Keegan - subtle oil landscapes prompted by local scenes Chris Biddle - startling and original imagery including ipad pictures Caroline Ferguson - historically themed prints, mixed media and pen and ink drawings Russell Garner - richly toned acrylic landscapes Michael Lee - a balance between reality and imagination Susan Leavett - stylised inspirations from the natural world Sian Janacek - black and white photography exploring perceptions of reality Nicola Collins - abstractions from geographic inspirations Jeannelise Eddelsten - through the looking glass abstract prints using a range of original techniques Mary Casserley - postcards of Berkhamsted Steve McGuinness - contemporary interpretations of water in oil Beverley Miller - lino cuts based on life in Africa Louise Bryant - mountain in pastel Mark Batchelder - fine wood-turning Vigdis - 'The Dreamer' - a charming sculpture in mixed media The Real World also features delightful contemporary jewellery by Louise Gent, Alison Berthelsen, Emily Collins, Andrew O'Dell and Sue Edwards. Plus ceramics by Ray Toms, Katherine Kingdon and Paul Rowbottom, along with beautiful textiles by Heather Evans, Deborah McGavock and Mary Casserley.
