Letchworth Educational Settlement Summer School

From Friday 21st July to Friday 4th August, Letchworth Settlement will be running a Summer School of one-off workshops, talks and trips covering a wide variety of subjects.

These are open to everyone, including non-members. We’ve seen strong interest and enthusiasm for trying out new crafts and learning about new subjects from learners who’ve joined these sessions during the last year.  We’re delighted that several of the Summer School sessions are being run by HVA members. Artists and crafters are working with us to shape these taster workshops and, where possible, these will developed into future courses. This broadens the Settlement’s offering, and allows HVA members to share their creative talent with new audiences. Exciting subjects introduced to the Settlement this year have included willow weaving, linocut printing, fixed heddle loom weaving and 3D embroidery.

Introducing Letchworth Educational Settlement

We are a unique centre of learning and creativity which has been serving the people of Letchworth Garden City and much further afield for 100 years.

We hope you will join us to make, learn and create! We run hundreds of courses and workshops throughout the year – during weekdays, evenings and at weekends.

Our talented tutors provide an outstanding quality of teaching in a huge range of subjects from arts and crafts to languages to special interest subjects. We are interested in hearing from accomplished artists and crafts people who are keen to teach their skills to learners, at our centre for lifelong learning.

You will be assured of a warm and friendly welcome in our beautiful, listed building in Nevells Road, Letchworth - and on-site parking is free.

We are an education centre for adults - however learners under 18 years of age can take part in our workshops and courses, if accompanied by an adult.
