Portrait Creatives
Portrait Creatives are just that – people who love being creative and exploring portraiture.
The Portrait Creatives group enjoys a few hours once a month for creating portraits from life. The sessions are flexible, with no set structure other than we sketch and paint from life, using the group members as subjects.
The group meets once a month on Monday mornings, 10.30-14.00, the dates being set by the group every 6 months. We meet in a studio at Unit 18, Old’s Close, Watford, WD18 9RU. There is parking and the venue is also walkable from Croxley tube station across Croxley Common. During the summer school holidays, the venue changes to a members’ home/garden, and outdoor spaces when the weather is fine.
As a group that only started in March 2026, we are still finding our rhythm and exploring how to use this wonderful opportunity. There is the potential to share and/or teach each other different techniques and processes or occasionally engage an external artist to teach.
To join the group, it is not necessary to have experience or skills in portraiture, only a keen interest to explore portraiture and a readiness to enjoy the process – we have fun.
The group size is limited by the venue in use, so please contact us if you wish to attend a session.
