I mainly focus on creating domestic ware, using all types of stoneware clay, often with minimal use of glazing and thus enabling the clay to speak for itself! Recently I have experimented with carving to create more texture in my pieces; I love how the glaze breaks over the carved clay. No two pieces are ever the same! In contrast, I really enjoy dabbling in finishes, such as raku and smoke firing, opening my eyes to new possibilities.
