I mainly focus on creating domestic ware, using all types of stoneware clay, often with minimal use of glazing enabling the clay to speak for itself! Recently I have experimented with carving to create more texture in my pieces; I love how the glaze breaks over the carved clay. No two pieces are ever the same! In contrast I really enjoy dabbling in finishes, such as raku and smoke firing, opening my eyes to new possibilities.
Join me at my studio space previously occupied by artist, Frank Fidler, in the lovely village of Barkway.
