84 Abigail Lagden (Curiously Contrary)

Art forms: Mixed Media 3D, Textiles

Welcome to my wonderful, whimsical world, where I create fun pieces using hardened fabrics, a childlike imagination and a sprinkle of magic.
Due to the processes and materials used, every piece is unique and designed to bring a smile to your face. I work with natural fibre fabrics, many being repurposed from clothing, to I create highly textured designs. The textures and other embellishments are then further enhanced using rich colours and shading.
I will be present at the studio on the dates shown and whilst there I will be working on new pieces and offering visitors the opportunity to get hands on.
As well as making my curious creations, I also offer workshops for groups. Please come and chat, or get in touch to find out more about these.

86 Maria Ipliktsiadou (IPLI Design)

Art forms: Drawing, Illustration, Mixed Media 2D, Painting
En plein air illustration showing part of the historical centre of Athens Greece. Watecolours and fine line pen is used to cerate this image.

Originally from Greece, I am a graphic designer, self-taught illustrator, artist and crafter.
I have had four private exhibitions (Athens 2009, 2014, London 2023, 2024), and participated in numerous group exhibitions, graphic design competitions, and craft fairs.
As an artist I do not have a specific style. I change media often but watercolours and ink fine line pens are my favourites. I am mostly inspired by nature, but I also like urban themed illustrations. Drawing en plein air is my obsession. I consider those images as my way of keeping a diary of places I have visited and love.
Illustrations of mine have been published in several Greek books. I have self-published an illustrated book about the raw side of motherhood, presenting the difficult period in my journey as a mother, while I was trying to deal with postnatal depression and anxiety.
During the last five years I have specialized in illustrating poetry.
