Gerrard will exhibit artworks in a wide range of art mediums. He is currently working on linocut prints inspired by images from his sketchbook.
Gerrard studied Visual Art at Newcastle University, (Australia) majoring in painting. In his mid-twenties, he came to London for three years and studied Corporal Mime. On returning to Australia he taught Drama at the Department of Education, Newcastle University and also gained the Graduate Diploma in Education, (Art and Drama). As an art teacher, he has explored many styles and art mediums and is now working on limited edition linocut prints.
Throughout his career, he has kept an artist journal of observations sketches and creative ideas for major artworks, full of observational sketches of landscapes, animals, figures and still-life. His limited edition linocut prints inspired by images from these sketchbooks while keeping the freshness, texture and quality of line and tone of the original drawings.
