John Durham specialises in portraying geological landscapes using form and colour to represent the underlying structure of the landscape. He uses vibrant colours and tints, to provide a fascinating insight and a contemporary perspective on some iconic landscapes.
Varied styles of abstract Paintings in a variety of media, essentially acrylic and collage. Subjects evolve from landscape inspiration.
I will be showing finished work and work-in-progress and demonstrating a range of knitting techniques, specifically how to knit wire bracelets, beaded yarn necklaces, and twiddlemuffs. You will be able to see unique and unusual pieces of handknitting: wire bracelets, yarn necklaces, the Elspeth Jane signature range of neckwear (scarves and cowls), hand cosies, fingerless mittens, twiddlemuffs, and a few of my favourite curious creatures (maybe they are cats … but judge for yourself!).
Sharing this "Open Studio" at The Open Door with 2-D artists, Petra Geggie, Pete Greening and John Durham, and potter, Jean Langdon.
I aim to be present at The Open Door most days, but if you particularly want to see me, and not just my work, it's probably best to email or telephone me to make sure I'll be there.
