46b Nicola Goss at Art @ Fairclough Farm

Nicola is a self-taught pet portrait, wildlife, and botanical artist working in watercolour, pastels & coloured pencils; she strives to reproduce realism in her work so that you feel you could reach out and touch the fur. Pet portraits are drawn with highly pigmented lightfast pencils and usually drawn on quality drafting film, or on archival acid free paper, ensuring you have a quality portrait that you can cherish for years to come.
Her inspiration derives from the natural wildlife surrounding the Hertfordshire countryside. She’s had a love for vibrant colours from a very young age and uses this within her drawings. She loves creating pet portraits, wildlife and botanical drawings. She particularly loves capturing the eyes of animal, as they are the soul of the animal. She creates every day and is constantly learning new techniques.
After being medically retired at a young age, she was determined not to let her MS diagnosis hold her back in life and she rekindled her love of art. Based in Hertfordshire, she’s built a network of likeminded artists and art lovers to share her passion with and to support her own mental health. She also runs monthly workshops out of her home in Letchworth. She’s passionate about teaching and ensuring what she’s learned is passed on. It’s lovely to see all of the students’ creations coming to life.
