Starting initially with drawings and silk painting, I combined these elements in Photoshop to create digital designs on fabric which I turned into cushions and canvases

My retirement from lecturing and the completion of a new studio has enabled me to concentrate fully on my own work. Covid isolation furthered a sense of urgency in my creativity and curiosity. Whether drawing myself or drawing my grandsons or setting up a still life, having a purpose build/designed studio has become vital to my practice. Observations, obsessions, distractions, abstractions fuel a programme of discovery within its confines. I am bringing the natural world, literally, into my...

Jill is working on the theme of ‘Explore’ both in terms of places now that we have the freedom to travel and trying ‘Earth friendly’ techniques. She enjoys how an artist, nature, the senses, elements and light react together to create images.
Jill has produced a variety of paintings, cyanotypes and mixed media that reflect how we have tried to cope during Lockdown and now can enjoy time with the people, places, animals and activities that we love.
She has been experimenting with...
