We are delighted that The New Maynard Gallery in Welwyn Garden City invited us back to stage our Big Art Showcase 2020. Earlier in the year than usual, this is an excellent opportunity for Herts Visual Arts members to showcase their work in this popular and vibrant gallery space.

Our exhibition provides exposure and exhibition experiences for our artists and also ties in with the Hertfordshire Year of Culture March theme of Access the Arts. What better way than to work with this local gallery, all our artists collaborating to bring a fantastic exhibition to this community gallery space.

As always, our Showcase will include a rich variety of 2D and 3D art produces by talented artists from around Hertfordshire. Herts Visual Arts Forum has come a long way since the first founder artists opened their studios to passing visitors- the first Herts Open Studios. Now, with hundreds of member artists, we offer a range of exhibition opportunities, an annual conference plus regular members meet-ups, and the opportunity list for our members gets better with every passing year.

Taking part this year, we have a mix of artists from amongst our very earliest members to artists who have only just joined us. Artists and visitors alike will also be warmly welcomed by gallery trustees and volunteers for a packed and lively Private View evening on Thursday 27th February 2020. A huge range of techniques and subject matter across the Showcase includes paintings, prints, textiles, glass, drawing, ceramics, jewellery and much more filling the walls and cabinets with a wealth of colour and style.

Running from 28th February to Saturday 28th March, the exhibition is open for visitors throughout the week. Almost all work is for sale. Herts Visual Arts members are all artists who live or work in or near Hertfordshire.

“I would again like to personally like to thank the New Maynard Gallery Trustees and volunteers for welcoming Herts Visual Arts into this amazing space” said Herts Visual Arts Chair, Hillary Taylor, who continued “We know our Big Art Showcase will be set out with professionalism, care and skill, showing our members work off to its very best.”
