Painting and linocut printing in a loose style, of subjects that offer interesting colour and composition.
Susan has studied and worked with a group of Harpenden oil painters for the past 10 years, and exhibited and sold paintings locally. She has more recently branched out into printmaking, following a course at Central St Martin's.
Susan likes to explore shape, form, and composition, in a fairly loose and energetic painting style that is still evolving. She chooses a variety of subjects, such as garden flowers, landscapes, architecture or more cryptic themes, taking inspiration from imagination, observation or her own photographs.
The prints are made from linocuts, using multiple overprints in different coloured inks and a variety of printing techniques, so that no two completed images are the same.
