Suman will be running an introduction to printmaking at St Albans Museum Gallery in the Autumn- dates tbc. and will be running workshops at Digswell when it is safe to do so. She has recently had two works selected by the prestigious Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair for their November exhibition. She has a solo show, Light and Shadow, planned for next year at Parndon Mill. All other exhibitions have been postponed. She was recently awarded a bursary for mentorship with Lewis Biggs, currently curator at Folkestone Triennial- formerly director of Tate Liverpool.
Suman Gujral lives and works in Hertfordshire. she is currently a fellow at Digswell Arts. She has trained at the world famous Curwen Print Study Centre founded by Sir Stanley Jones- where Henry Moore also worked! During her recent MA, her work was inspired by her family experiences of the 1947 Partition of India, the migration crisis and her health challenges. Currently, her work focuses on the landscape- both literal and metaphorical and is inspired by trips to the seaside, forests and rivers- both here in the UK and abroad. She works mainly with print processes- etching, lino, drypoint and monotype. All her work is hand printed in her studio in Hertfordshire and is either unique or part of a small, signed, limited edition. Please do not hesitate to contact her for more information.
